About the company:

We have set out to create an all electric truck specifically to be used in and around cities and urban areas. No tailpipe emissions, no engine noise. And without a bulky diesel engine we’re also able to completely re-design the cabin with a driver-centric approach to make the vehicle safer for drivers, pedestrians and cyclists. The driver seat has literally been placed in the center and the cab lowered to optimise the driver’s field of view and to allow easy access on both sides with sliding doors. In short, we’re ripping up the design book on urban trucks and starting again.

We are looking for Junior Sales Executives in Rotterdam/The Hague, to support our rapidly growing Sales department.

Founded in 2019, Volta Trucks is a fast-growing clean mobility start-up focusing on developing full-electric commercial vehicle solutions for tomorrow’s cities. Through product and business model innovations, the company’s ambition is to bring to market the most sustainable and safest truck.

‎The Volta Zero is the company’s first product and features an innovative driver-centric cabin design, the latest driver assistance and connectivity technologies to improve the driver’s experience and protect pedestrians, cyclists and other road users. The first prototype Volta Zero was launched in September 2020, and the first pre-production vehicles started undergoing evaluation with customers in 2021 ahead of the start of series production in 2022. ‎

‎Volta Trucks is pioneering a new business model by offering the vehicle to logistics operators as part of its Truck-as-a-Service (TaaS) solution. The suite includes, in addition to the lease of the vehicle, complementary services such as insurance, maintenance, energy infrastructure and supply. It will enable a frictionless transition to electric vehicle fleets for logistics operators and align incentives to reduce C02 emissions over the entire vehicle lifecycle. ‎

‎The Role‎

To support its ambition to expand rapidly into new markets, Volta Trucks is looking for Junior Sales Executives, to support the Sales team. This is an opportunity to join a new team and shape the company’s go-to-market strategy from the outset.

Main responsibilities

  • We are looking for hunters! You will need to have the confidence and gravitas to cold call and qualify new customers in order to generate leads for the Sales team.
  • Support vehicle demonstration events for prospective customers.
  • Support market research to measure market value and product optimisation.
  • Educate prospects about electrification’s commercial and environmental benefits to facilitate adoption.
  • Understand prospective customer’s challenges to support the design of the optimal TaaS package.
  • Support customers through our journey to delivery of vehicles starting later this year.
Qualifications and Experience

  • We are looking for someone with a strong drive and desire to forge a career in this exciting industry. We would consider a recent graduate with a relevant background and/or experience
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, hands-on approach, practical and enthusiastic
  • Ability to work autonomously in the fast-paced, complex and ambiguous environment of a start-up
  • Positive and passionate, good team player
  • Fluency in Dutch and English essential, other languages are also desirable
