International Accounting Manager

Job Description:

The International Accounting Manager role at Hazel Technologies is responsible for the performance of the day-to-day accounting for international entities and preparing the company’s consolidated financial statements. This role requires a highly detail-oriented and collaborative individual with excellent communication skills, who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Management relationship with and be point of contact for international accounting firms.
• Coordinate with third party international accounting firms throughout the establishment of new legal entities.
• Intercompany reconciliations – tie out receivable and payable accounts between subsidiary and parent company as well as reconcile inter-company loan activity and interest each month.
• Review, prepare, and ensure that intercompany invoicing and related accounting is completed in a timely and accurate manner.
• Coordinate with Operations Department and local international accounting firm on movement of inventory, sales invoices, and vendor invoices.
• Account reconciliation – review account reconciliations prepared by local international accounting firms and propose adjustments if required.
• Responsible for some general ledger accounting, including journal entry preparation, reconciliation and analysis of various balance sheet and income statement accounts to ensure compliance, integrity of balances, accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting and effectiveness of business processes.
• Actively participate in month end close by managing individual deadlines and deliverables.
• Maintain inventory records and compare to local accounting firm records.
• Review and approve vendor invoices and payroll.
• Map new GL accounts from local accounting firms to Hazel COA.
• Maintain daily Fx rates for each local entity.
• Translate monthly financial statements from local currency to USD.
• Prepare consolidation for multiple international entities plus domestic entity, including review of subsidiary financials and supporting details, preparation of intercompany entries and intercompany funding.
• Prepare quarterly variance analysis on financial statements.
• Assess and write functional currency accounting papers for new legal entities.
• Assist with maintenance of accounting policies, including related documentation of internal control procedures.
• Coordinate and Review transfer pricing and compute transfer pricing adjustments
• Coordinate local stand-alone audits for several legal entities.
• Assist with other quarterly reviews and annual audits performed by external auditors as needed.
• Review and process all compliance/statutory filings required.
• Review daily cash requirement to ensure sufficient funding.
• Process local banking transactions as necessary.
• Support entity capitalization and distribution transactions as needed.
• Assist with other projects on an as needed basis.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required. Accounting strongly preferred.
• Certified Public Accountant, or similar designation, preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• 3-5+ years of international accounting experience.
• Thorough knowledge of US GAAP. Knowledge of IFRS a plus. Complete understanding of the technical aspects of account analyses and financial statements.
• Ability to exercise time management and prioritization skills, as well as impeccable organization and attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products. Advanced Excel skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Experience with a large ERP system – Oracle a plus.

Salary Range: $130,000-$150,000
