Your role and your team: 
You will report directly to the Head of Cost and Value Engineering and work closely with Cost Engineering team. The Cost Engineering team is a strategy and project-based department within the Procurement division. It is responsible for cost calculations, support technical, commercial supplier discusions and cost improvements measures across all product development phases. This includes early-stage cost estimations, tradeoff-studies for design support, should-cost modeling, and design-to-cost related improvement activities. 
In this role, you will support the Cost Engineering team with research of technical and commercial data in the fields of materials, process technologies, industrial equipment and financial analysis of Liliums supply chain. Furthermore, you will contribute to the operational activities and their implementation with internal and external stakeholders. One specific task/project will be the maintenance and improvement of the Cost Engineering databases.

Your Day to Day:

  • Work with Cost and Value Engineers
  • Support the maturity of Cost Engineering core databases and datasets
  • Perform analyses of raw material and technical equipment prices
  • Research for country & supplier specific datasets (e.g. labor costs)
  • Mapping of production processes for cycle time calculations and their technical constraints
  • Creating cost estimations based on engineering data
  • Contributing to Cost Engineering development projects
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders

Your Profile:

  • You are a bachelor or master student (m/f/d) in production engineering, industrial engineering or a similar field
  • Excellent academic track record and past industrial internships in related sectors such as manufacturing or consulting firms
  • Basic understanding between production environment and its economic impact
  • You have advanced MS Office skills, particularly Excel
  • Programming knowledge is a nice to have plus (e.g. Python, VBA, Java)
  • High level of self-reliance: work independently and be self-motivated
  • Hands-on mentality
  • Outstanding analytical skills with a drive to challenge the status quo
  • Good communication and team working skills with an autonomous target-oriented workstyle
  • Fluent in English, min. B1 level in German
  • Available for a minimum of 6 months full time (for intern only; nor applicable for working student)
