About the company:
WHO WE ARE
At Proxima Fusion, we're driven by a bold mission – to redefine the future of sustainable energy. Our unique concept, built upon the groundbreaking W7-X stellarator and the latest advances in technology, paves the way for commercially viable fusion power plants.
What’s more, our work in stellarator optimization, powered by cutting-edge computation and machine learning, is propelling us into uncharted territories of fusion technology. New higher performance design points are unlocked by high temperature superconducting magnets.
To fully grasp this huge opportunity, we’re building a team of extremely dedicated and passionate people who come together driving something extraordinary, radically transforming technology in the world.
WHY JOIN PROXIMA FUSION
You will get to work on some of the most complex tech challenges to bring abundant, safe, clean energy to the world.
You'll get to join and learn from an exceptional selection of accomplished and driven individuals.
Do your life’s best work and enjoy the journey.
Get to show that big things are possible in Europe when you assemble the best talent.
YOUR IMPACT
You shape the civil and structural backbone of Alpha, Proxima Fusion’s first fusion demonstrator, and set the logic for how we scale toward Stellaris, our first-of-a-kind fusion power plant. You lead constructability-driven integration reviews, translate complex physics and machine requirements into clear building interfaces, and ensure that designs from internal teams and external partners remain consistent, buildable, and safe.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Lead cross-disciplinary reviews from a construction delivery perspective, resolving structural and building interfaces across Alpha and informing early Stellaris assumptions.
Define civil and structural interface envelopes, load paths, tolerances, access strategies, and penetrations together with machine and engineering teams.
Translate early technical and physics-driven requirements into building-ready, constructability-oriented inputs for external engineering partners.
Identify and resolve conflicts early (routing, structure–machine clashes, long-lead constraints) using digital models and clear documentation.
Coordinate closely with the Technical Integration Office, BIM Specialist, and Project Manager to ensure decisions are based on a consistent engineering baseline.
WHO YOU ARE
Degree in civil engineering, structural engineering, or closely related field.
Significant experience in complex industrial, research, or energy facilities (e.g., semiconductor, nuclear-adjacent, large scientific installations).
Confident leading technical reviews and defending constructability constraints in cross-disciplinary environments.
Comfortable working with evolving requirements and contributing structure-first logic into early layouts and interface definitions.
Experienced in model-based coordination and digital engineering workflows.
