As a Procurement Specialist, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our technology sourcing and supplier engagement. In this role, you will have a significant impact on our innovation, quality, and cost-effectiveness. You will collaborate closely with the CTO and Product Management. Your expertise will ensure that our suppliers meet our quality and performance standards, driving the success of our product portfolio. 

Responsibilities

  • Conduct market research: identify new technologies and components through online research, whitepapers, trade shows, and competitor analysis 
  • Evaluate and analyze products: assess technical specifications, performance, supplier reliability, and compliance 
  • Collaborate with the CTO & Product Management: capture requirements and strategic goals for new products and technologies 
  • Early/advanced supplier assessment: evaluate potential suppliers early, ensuring they meet quality, cost, and capacity requirements
  • Negotiate preliminary terms: engage with suppliers on terms and pricing 
  • Technology & supplier maturity assessment: ensure technology and suppliers comply with quality, cost, and capacity requirements 
  • Cost vs. value assessment: work with your stakeholders to ensure mid-term cost targets are met by new technologies and suppliers 
  • Industry engagement: attend trade shows and conferences 
  • Engineering insight: evaluate technical aspects of new technologies
  • Market intelligence: provide insights on cost drivers, including raw materials and technology maturity, to support sourcing and negotiations

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Engineering (Business, Industrial, Civil, or other technical fields) 
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sourcing/procurement roles, or as an NPI Engineer 
  • Strong technical evaluation skills. 
  • Proven ability to evaluate technical specifications and performance of components 
  • Good knowledge of vendor sourcing practices, including researching, evaluating, and liaising with vendors for new technologies 
  • Strong negotiation skills 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English 
  • Expertise in renewable energy technologies is a plus
