Role and Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Responsible Manager Quality of Lilium eAircraft’s EASA Part 21 Annex I Production Organisation at our HQ in Munich/Gauting, you lead, manage, and further develop the operational quality units constituted by Incoming Inspection, Production Quality Inspectors and Certifying Staff into our business model. Supporting and enabling Liliums manufacturing environment during the build of our Lili-Jet till end of Final Assembly Line in line with EASA Part 21 Annex I, Part145 and EN9100 requirements.
Your Day to Day:
- Managing and leading the quality operations business unit under quality, time and cost perspective in a most efficient way according to Liliums Business Management and particular Production Management System.
- Liaise with our Logistic/Supply Chain Team, the different areas of the production line, and internal quality teams to integrate and foster Aircraft airworthiness and conformity management control and processes within and in compliance too our EASA P21 Annex I environment.
- Take care on required quality inspection and attestation activities in compliance to design specification in the day-to-day business, while supporting the production schedule.
- Prepare and maintain your area of business responsibility for internal and external audits in accordance with the applicable requirements specified by EASA Part 21 Annex and described in Liliums PMS.
- Contribute to APQP execution and implementation into Lilium’s production process within your area of responsibility to respect and maintain design key characteristics and further inspection criteria for maintaining Aircraft conformity and airworthiness.
- Manage quality and inspection escapes by non-conformity reports and concessions.
- Analyze and interact with your business stakeholders for corrective/preventive action via effective 9S application and documentation against non-conformances raised during production operations ore in audits, and potential hazards impacting Product Quality or Safety.
- Set up a governance to coordinate and manage your day-to-day communication and business needs within your quality unit and towards your stakeholders.
- Develop, approve, and control the Incoming and product inspection planning, methods, and technologies along the APQP control plan in close relation to our Quality-Planning Business Unit; feedback on required control plan corrections/improvements to Quality Planning including relevant IT applications, IT improvements.
- Define and control your business KPI’s and conduct periodic quality reviews.
- Support and mentor your and other team members in topics concerning Quality, Safety, and Aviation Legislation to foster safe operations in a developing environment.
- Lead your team in compliance to Lilium Values and Behaviors while conduction regular employee talks on performance, development, and goal setting subjects.
Preferred Skills:
- Technician or Engineering degree in Aerospace or similar field contributing to the role.
- Leadership experience in people leading and managing operational Teams in an aviation production or maintenance environment. Experience with implementing a new Aircraft Type including Prototype build into a production environment is an advantage.
- Min of 5 years of experience in Quality under a POA or MOA certification with a certain level of knowledge on requirements to obtain and maintain a Production Organization Approval is essential.
- Awareness of and experience in Product conformity control
- Technical experience and certain degree of knowledge across all Aircraft Systems to support your team on issues in a developing environment.
- Good level of understanding about product safety and risk management needs to support just culture and our safety management system.
- Fact-driven, resilient, and personally committed for achieving success without ego in a fast changing and growing environment.
- Must be a proactive, open, and direct communicator who engages comfortably and credibly with all levels of the organization with courage to speak up to maintain and protect the applied Management System.
- Strong motivation to help build and shape your organization, structures, and processes.
- High level of self-reliance for decision making with the ability to work in a team as well as autonomously.
- Target-oriented, structured and fact driven workstyle with analytic problem-solving skills required.
- German language skills would be beneficial, fluent English language skills are essential.
