The Role:

The Head of Network Development and Landing Infrastructure will lead the international Network Development and Landing Infrastructure team. Reporting directly into the VP Support & Services / Power-ON, you will be responsible for the definition, set-up and execution of network strategies and infrastructure development across the globe.

You will have end-to-end responsibility to support our commercial partners in their launch of a Lilium jet network, including the design, permitting and construction of landing infrastructure. This includes strategically and conceptually defining the infrastructure products in close collaboration with the Sales, Government Relations/Public Affairs, Business Marketing and Airline Operations teams, signing infrastructure partnerships with relevant players across the globe as well as ensuring that individual projects are managed to the highest standards and delivered on time. Additionally, your team has a role of technical sales support regarding the Lilium Jet and its environment.

Your contribution will be key for Lilium’s go-to-market strategy, ensuring the establishment of ground-based flight operation infrastructure networks. The goal is to have a fully functioning infrastructure network for the launch of a service with the Lilium jet in the chosen locations, building a network of pads for flight operations around the world.

Your Day to Day:

  • Create and execute the (regional) network strategy
  • Manage the development of options/products for landing infrastructure around the globe and ready for launch in chosen sites together with the Head of Specs and Architecture Landing Infrastructure
  • Work with multifunctional leadership team including VP Flight Ops, Support and Services, VP Business Development, Head of Business Marketing and Head of GRPA to ensure ecosystem readiness and infrastructure compatibility for market launch
  • Set-up and execute on worldwide infrastructure partnerships working closely together with other corporate teams
  • Be responsible for the establishment of all flight operations infrastructure and their respective operational processes (incl. if needed supporting the planning, permitting and set-up of landing sites)
  • Provide technical support to sales
  • Manage multiple priorities and cost of the programme and report on ROI
  • Lead your team with a quality-first mindset ensuring close collaboration across geographies
  • Identify conflicts early and drive successful resolution across people, processes, and products.
  • Recruit, qualify and develop a diverse team
  • Infuse and practice a culture of openness, courage, commitment, and respect; where your team feel empowered to take ownership of tasks and deliver results on time.

Your Profile:

  • 7 to 10 years related experience with a proven track record developing and project manage relevant projects in aeronautics or infrastructure
  • Proven experience in leading teams 
  • Strong performance history in a Tier 1 firm (management consulting or investment banking) and/or aviation/airports industry or a high-paced technology environment
  • Proven track record of rapid, on time/budget execution at highest project management standards
  • Exceptional strategic thinker and analytical skills; ability to address cross-functional and cross-organizational issues independently
  • Strong academic background especially in economics, engineering, architecture, and/or law a plus
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken (German language skills a strong plus, French and Spanish a plus)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Confident attitude eager to take decisions with calculated risks in a fast-pacing environment
  • Ability to manage expectations, requirements and provide compromised solutions
  • Positive “can do” attitude, passionate leader and able to show commitment and to inspire others
  • Willingness to work across multiple time zones and travel as required
