At SPAN, we are building products that enable the rapid adoption of renewable energy like home solar, batteries, and electric vehicles. The SPAN Panel replaces the standard electrical panel to become the center for connected power in the home, providing revolutionary insights and home energy controls through the SPAN mobile app. SPAN recently launched SPAN Drive, an EV charger with the fastest available home charging and unique capabilities.
As automakers launch new EV models and customer demand for EVs skyrockets, SPAN has a unique position in connecting EVs to homes. The combination of the SPAN Panel and SPAN Drive can enable customers to install EV chargers without requiring a service upgrade. In addition, the home energy management capabilities and built-in transfer switch in the SPAN Panel have been of great interest to automakers looking to enable Vehicle To Home. SPAN is seeking a Head of Automotive Partnerships to scale the automative channel. As an early member of SPAN's Business Development team, you will help shape the direction of our company and have opportunities to grow as we continue to scale.
Source and develop relationships with both incumbent and new automakers
Negotiate and close deals that significantly add to SPAN's revenue and strategic position, running point externally and internally on these relationships
Own multiple strategic relationships on an ongoing basis, working to grow our business with each partner over time
Collaborate with the VP of Business Development to build the strategy for the EV OEM channel
Work closely with SPAN's product and revenue teams to develop new product capabilities that serve the channel
8-15 years work experience, primarily in sales and business development roles
5+ years experience with automakers, including at least 2 years selling to automakers; trusted relationships across multiple OEMs
Deep understanding of players and dynamics in the automotive space
Strong sales acumen and experience, with a solid track record of results as a hunter sourcing and closing new accounts
Outstanding communications skills, with demonstrated ability to build trust-based relationships as well as write quickly and concisely
Highly motivated, self-directed, and a solid strategic thinker
Technical background (e.g. engineering degree) or experience in a technical field
Previous product or strategy experience
