We are seeking a skilled and experienced professional to expand and operate a state-of-the-art Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) and also oversee our security infrastructure program. You will oversee daily operational and planning support for physical security, physical security infrastructure, and operational intelligence for our rapidly growing company. You must have a proven track record of integrating security infrastructure systems including access control, situational awareness, mass communications, video surveillance, and AI-powered tools to automate and enhance security operations.

Compensation
There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $117,000 to $176,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.

In this role, you will:

  • Design, implement, and manage the SIOC, ensuring it meets the highest standards of operational excellence.
  • Lead the assessment, selection, installation, build-out, and management of security systems and tools. This includes both experience with new builds, takeover/ retrofitting existing facilities, and establishing and maintaining building security infrastructure standards.
  • Lead the integration of various security systems such as access control, situational awareness, mass communications, video surveillance, and AI-powered tools to create a cohesive and automated security operation.
  • Oversee the collection, analysis, and dissemination of operational intelligence to support proactive fleet security measures to avoid or mitigate incidents, and/or incident response.
  • Ensure the protection of company assets, personnel, and property through effective physical security measures and infrastructure management.
  • Develop and implement crisis management protocols and procedures to handle emergencies and security incidents efficiently.
  • Recruit, train, and manage a team of contract and employee security professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with other departments, including Fleet Operations, EHS, Field Safety, IT, Facilities, and executive management, to align security strategies with organizational goals.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to physical and operational security.
  • Experience managing multiple vendors and ensuring top performance.
  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Previous experience in corporate security, law enforcement, or military operations.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in security operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing a GSOC or equivalent security operation
  • Expertise in integrating and managing security technologies including access control, video surveillance, situational awareness platforms, mass communication systems, and AI-powered tools.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team of security professionals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Familiarity with incident response protocols and crisis management frameworks.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, coupled with a positive attitude.
  • Bonus Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in a related field.
  • 15+ years experience working with government agencies, a global corporate security organization, or in regulatory compliance roles.
  • Previous experience in the automotive or transportation industry.
  • Experience with cyber security and programming.
  • Professional security industry certifications such as CPP (Certified Protection Professional), PSP (Physical Security Professional), or CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional).
  • Expert knowledge of Security Operations Center (SOC) and/or Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) analysis.
