The Rivian Battery Supply Chain team is looking for a highly motivated and exceptional Analyst to bring Rivian’s engineered products to life. Reporting into the Senior Group Manager (Battery Materials), the Global Supply Analyst will be responsible for understanding and educating the team on battery materials prices and market dynamics, current and emerging supplier strategies, impact on our near and long-term cell cost outcomes. You will also provide critical operational and contract support to ensure our battery raw materials are received by our supply chain in a timely and conforming manner.
This is what you’ll do:
- Build and maintain a suite of industry analysis tools including supply & demand models, cost curves, pricing results and forecasts across all battery materials
- Read and synthesis market reports and present to the team
- Record and report on supplier production, pricing, and expansion strategies
- Maintain battery materials demand forecasts for Rivian
- Work with battery cell suppliers and battery materials suppliers to ensure timely, conforming supply
- Support contract and sales administration
Basic Requirements:
- BA / BS degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Material Science, Business, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in a research or analyst role
- 3+ years of experience in the trading or mining industry
- Working knowledge of the nickel, cobalt, lithium markets
- Demonstrated ability to identify process issues and drive improvements; good knowledge and experience with SAP or other ERPS systems
- Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
- Highly organized and demonstrated ability as a strategic thinker. Ability to prioritize multiple projects, develop effective plans, coordinate change management, and see projects through to conclusion
Preferred Requirements:
- Master’s degree/MBA
- 5+ years of minding or trading industry experience with a focus on research
- Strong knowledge of global battery minerals industry
- Experience in building high performing strategic purchasing organizations and developing talent into leadership positions
- California Residents Salary Range: $121,000-$156,000 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
- Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.
