We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to join our global HR team. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of all aspects of HR, enjoy working on a wide variety of matters within a positive dynamic environment, and be able to manage projects while possessing a strategic business-focused mindset. In this role, you will be a critical part of building and implementing HR strategies and initiatives for an innovative start-up company focused on revolutionizing sustainable manufacturing in the building industry worldwide. This position may be remote within the US or based out of our Oakland, California office.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist US employees during the entire employment life cycle from onboarding to offboarding;
- Oversee US recruitment efforts, including sourcing, screening, interviewing candidates, and managing the hiring and on-boarding processes
- In partnership with counsel, manage US immigration
- Create and implement HR policies and processes in areas such as compensation, benefits, health, safety, compliance, work rules, time off, etc.
- Manage employee relations issues
- Conduct investigations
- Develop and conduct employee training.
- Oversee global and regional HR initiatives
- Ensure legal compliance and audit company practices
- Support performance and talent management processes
- HR vendor management including US payroll administration
- HRIS data maintenance and reporting
- HR and cross-functional project management
- Support employee engagement initiatives
- Internal HR team administrative duties / Chief of Staff to the Chief People Officer
- Partner with the global HR team to ensure consistency in HR policies and practices across all locations
REQUIREMENTS:
- 6 or more years of proven human resources experience
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration or a relevant field
- Thorough knowledge of human resource management principles and best practices
- Excellent understanding of US employment legislation and regulations
- Employee relations and investigations experience
- Superior project management and organization skills
- Knowledge of data analysis and reporting
- Collaborative team player
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with a service-based mindset
- High ethical standards
- Ability to handle sensitive data with confidentiality
- Willingness to work on a wide variety of matters within HR function
