As we work to bring our revolutionary aircraft to Los Angeles, and as the official air taxi partner of the 2028 Olympic Games in LA, we are hiring our first General Manager for Los Angeles region and the broader Southern California Region. Reporting directly to our Chief Commercial Officer, you’ll launch and develop our presence in the region while working closely with the Marketing, Flight Operations, Policy, and Infrastructure Teams. Your work will ultimately drive the success of our larger commercialization strategy and make Archer the global leader in eVTOL.
What you’ll do:
- Build relationships with local government offices and other strategic partners that will accelerate our growth in the market
- Partner with cross-functional teams to own the P&L and all KPIs for the larger LA region, ensuring that Archer achieves growth and profitability goals
- Incorporate on-the-ground learnings and develop a playbook that can be used by GMs in future markets
- Hire and lead a high performing team of operators that will drive a winning market strategy
- Ensure our physical infrastructure is tailored to the specific needs of the market
- Drive local marketing and demand generation in collaboration with our global commercial team
What you need:
- 10+ years of total experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role at a high-growth technology startup
- Track record of building from 0 to 1 and beyond in ambiguous environments where there is no established playbook
- Analytical and financial ability to run a P&L
- Policy and regulatory knowledge that will allow us to scale operations in the market
- Cross-functional ability to work with our core business units including engineering, operations, and executive leadership
- Live in LA and travel up to 25% of the year to HQ and/or other markets
Bonus Qualifications:
- MBA or advanced STEM degree
- Experience in the aviation or aerospace industry
- Previously launched and scaled a business unit within a specific geography
- Deep knowledge of and existing relationships within the LA region
- Early career experience in management consulting and/or investment banking
- Experience in a city- or region-level GM at a tech business like Uber, Lyft, DoorDash, etc

We drive a pay-for-performance culture and reward performance that supports the Company’s business strategy. For this position we are targeting a base pay between $220,320 - $249,280. Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
