Emerging Technology Manufacturing Engineering Co-Op
Rivian’s Emerging Technology Co-Op program offers a 6-month experience for students seeking an opportunity to influence and transform the next generation of Electric Vehicle manufacturing.
Internship Term: 6 months starting January 2023

Responsibilities:
· Define and implement general assembly inline or end-of-line vehicle testing requirements in collaboration with vehicle design, software, and integration teams, in preparation for new product launches.
· Partner with Production Engineers and Leaders to ensure successful ramp and long term production.
· Optimize vehicle tests for manufacturing in collaboration with cross functional teams, considering KPIs such as quality, productivity, and capital expenditure.
· Assist with development of testing hardware and software with suppliers during vehicle prototyping.

· Build prototypes and vehicle commissioning in vehicle testing.
· Lead investigations for process issues leading to test failures and ensure all issues are driven to resolution, including immediate mitigation and permanent solution.
· Challenge assumptions that are not backed by a thorough engineering evaluation and prioritize tasks to ensure smooth vehicle launch and new product introductions.
· Provide regular, metric-based project updates to management team.
· Execute DFMEA/PFMEA on vehicle systems to identify required test.
· Think fast, prioritize, and make decisions that benefit Rivian.
· Ensure safety, quality, cost, timing & throughput targets are achieved on all projects.
· Be part of a world-class Engineering Team, with a focus on high quality work and rapid project deployment.
General Qualifications:
• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar from an accredited college or university.
• Manufacturing concepts (cycle time analysis, quality control, equipment efficiency, etc.) a strong plus.
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems and deliver technical projects.
• Capable of working as a member of a team across several cross functional disciplines, including external stakeholders.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience working in both 2D & 3D CAD environments.
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems and deliver technical projects.
Eligibility Criteria:
· Undergraduate Juniors and Seniors with a 2.9+ GPA in a STEM program
o Students are responsible to maintain academic enrollment post co-op term, abiding by their respective school policies’.
Work Authorization Requirements
Rivian’s Emerging Technology Co-op program requires United States Work Authorization. Sponsorship will not be provided by Rivian for student employment.
Eligibility includes students on an F-1 Visa, eligible to work on CPT. Failure to secure an i-20 prior to the start date agreed on the offer contract will result in termination of the offer.
Students requiring a J-1 visa will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis per Rivian’s internal talent mobility guidelines.
