The Foundry Engineering team designs, builds, and operates custom technologies to enable high throughput research at Ecovative Mycelium Foundry. We are seeking interns for this summer in three key areas: 

Experimental Technologies:

  • Assist building novel software or hardware for sensing and instrumentation.
  • Benchmark alternatives imaging technologies (i.e., LIDAR, 3D, thermal cameras) and support developing computer vision analysis methods.
  • Develop characterization and usability reports on existing hardware and software.

Hardware Prototyping and Operations Support:

  • Assist hardware validation and commissioning procedures for new technologies or platform upgrades.
  • Assist building physical prototypes and minimal viable products to facilitate the testing and development of new technologies.
  • Assist management and operational planning for a high-throughput research platform
  • Identify ergonomic design improvements to existing systems, conduct root-cause analyses, and develop as-built drawings and documentation operational or design changes.

Information Systems:

(Remote work possibility)

  • UI/UX design for our dashboard and visualization tools.
  • Contribute to API development and documentation to support data-integration across data acquisition, learning, and analysis platforms.
  • Assist building automated data reporting capabilities.
  • Developing new 2D/3D visualizations from real-time sensors or existing datasets.
