Finish Out Carpenter

ICON is seeking a Finish Out Carpenter to work hands-on in the field finishing out details where ICON’s wall system interfaces with traditional construction finishes. This candidate has in-field experience with various finish out trades including carpentry & masonry work. This candidate should be professional, organized, and be detail oriented. Since candidates will spend the majority of their time in the field performing daily responsibilities outlined below it is extremely important that candidates are passionate about the level of their craftsmanship. This role is based in our Austin, TX lab and reports to the Finish Out Carpenter Supervisor. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Interface daily with traditional construction trades; MEPs, framers, trim carpenters, drywallers to ensure that ICON’s wall system smoothly interfaces with traditionally built structures.
• Execute precise masonry detailing both in the home's interior and exterior for areas such as jambs, headers, and accent features.
• Cast, reinforce, and install all of ICON’s unique windowsill systems for window openings.
• Source, CNC, and install all top plates for ICON’s wall system, including final tensioning of vertical reinforcing through top plate.
• Apply liquid flashing at multiple locations including top plate as needed to fully weatherproof ICON’s wall system as it interfaces with traditional roofing.
• Apply spray foam insulation under windowsills.
• Install blocking/shims as required to ensure all ICON walls, jambs, sills, and top plates are true-plumb-level-square and held to industry standard tolerances.
• Collect and provide in-field feedback to ICON’s Architecture & Building Performance team on learnings that we can implement into future details. 
• Frame window & door openings as well as execute miscellaneous trim work for R&D projects.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• 2+ years of journeyman level carpenter / tradesmen / craftsmen experience.
