About the company:

For supermarkets, food producers, and farmers, we offer modular insect farms that convert food waste into animal feed.

Our technology helps reduce emissions, mitigate food waste, and replace deforestation-linked soy.

About Better Origin

Our food chain is broken - the system that can barely feed 7 billion people will not feed 10 billion we’re expected to reach by 2050. And while it's hard to imagine that things could be different, they have to be.

Our generation is facing a massive challenge: how can we build a food supply chain that is both sustainable and secure?

At Better Origin, our mission is to fix the broken food chain. We are inspired by how nature deals with waste, where nutrients are never lost and always recycled.

That is exactly what happens inside the Better Origin X1 container, where food waste is fed to insects, which then become a carbon negative source of protein for animals and humans. This enables us to not only reduce food waste and emissions, but also support a local-first supply chain.

Why join us?

We’re backed by world-class investors at Balderton Capital and Fly Ventures.

Following our $16m Series A round, we are focusing on commercialising ourt technology and team scaleup.

In 2022, we enabled Morrisons to launch the first carbon neutral egg line in UK supermarkets by converting their fruit and veg waste into animal feed.

We're working with supermarkets and food producers to roll out our technology in the UK and the EU and help them get closer to Net Zero.

We are very proud of our values and want to attract those who feel motivated by them as much as we are. Some of our key values include:

  1. Don’t dream about a better future – build it.
  2. Leave no room for waste.
  3. Dare to explore.
  4. Work for the team, not just yourself.
  5. We do things our own way.

Our team comes from a variety of backgrounds and different places around the world. We're growing fast, scaling from 40 to 50 people by the end of 2023 - now is the best time to join!
