Your role and your team:

You will work closely with the Lilium Commercial leadership team on all finance related topics on a day-to-day basis.

Your key deliverables for the role will include assisting the leadership team in all key financial decisions on commercial topic (e.g. providing recommendations on complex commercial contract negotiations), implementing process optimisation projects, budget controlling and KPI development.

You will draw on exceptional stakeholder management skills as well as deep knowledge of financial fundamentals to problem solve, identify areas of risk and partner with management on all finance related topics. This experience will help you to balance the business requirements with the finance capabilities and be instrumental in developing the controlling landscape to continuously add value to our organisation.

You will have an exceptional opportunity to shape the controlling landscape and commercial interfaces between highly specialised division operations and broader financial objectives.

Your Day to Day:

  • Develop strong relationships across the business to become a trusted financial advisor, partnering with key stakeholders to provide finance support facilitating achievement of the overall business objectives
  • Instrumental in defining future revenue and cashflow drivers in the context of commercial deals.
  • Financially evaluate business activities, modelling scenarios and testing business case assumptions ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Support the business to ensure the creation of accurate, realistic and achievable budgets within issued guidelines, take ownership of budget monitoring and communications and maintain forward looking forecasts to identify risks, opportunities and dependencies
  • Provide insightful commentary on monthly management reporting to enable a clear view of business performance
  • Problem-solve finance related queries in the business setting and be a leader and conduit in change management
  • Grow the professionalisation of our finance processes and reporting solutions, while maintaining an agile and flexible start-up culture
  • Work with colleagues and management to develop decision making principles based on sound economic fundamentals and viable solutions 
  • Create commercial reporting and KPI tracking system for the senior leadership team and Board of Directors

 Your Profile:

  • Around 10 years of related experience with a proven track record supporting commercial teams on cost modelling and negotiations for complex contract bids worth USD 5 million plus
  • Airline / aerospace or related industry experience is essential
  • MRO industry experience is a plus
  • Sound commercial orientation with a proven track record advising on legal/finance structure topics
  • Ability to independently develop and test complex financial models, business plans and complete scenario analyses
  • Hands on mentality with exceptional numerical and analytical skills
  • Business fluent English language is essential, German or any other language would be beneficial
  • Strong academic background in finance and/or business is a strong plus
