About the company:
As an Accounts Payable Assistant / Finance Administrator, you'll be part of Vertical's high-performing Service Centre team - an essential extension of the Finance function. The Service Centre ensures the smooth operation of our purchasing processes by supporting Indirect Procurement and Accounts Payable, ensuring accurate data entry into our ERP system, maintaining precise financial records, and enabling timely payments. You'll thrive in a detail-focused, fast-paced environment where collaboration and continuous improvement are part of the culture.
What You’ll Do
Procurement Operations
Raise and manage purchase requisitions in the ERP system within agreed service levels
Ensure all requisitions are complete, policy-compliant, and accurately coded
Place low-value orders using cost invoices or company credit cards
Submit complete expense claims to facilitate VAT recovery
Confirm receipt of indirect goods and services, ensuring timely ERP updates
Close purchase orders once all deliveries are confirmed
Stakeholder Collaboration
Work closely with Indirect Procurement and Accounts Payable to onboard suppliers and maintain clean supplier data
Support timely invoice payments through accurate and prompt receipting
Process Improvement
Identify and recommend opportunities to streamline and automate Service Centre workflows
What You’ll Bring
Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
Strong organisational and interpersonal skills
A proactive, solution-oriented mindset
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and related financial software
Adaptability and resilience in a fast-changing environment
(Desirable) Background in accountancy or working toward AAT/ACCA/CIMA qualifications
