About the company:

Revolutionising urban air mobility and electrifying air travel

What to expect

As a Manufacturing Engineer Advanced focused on Fixturing and Assembly, you’ll be at the forefront of designing the tools and processes that bring our next-generation battery systems to life. You'll join a fast-moving, collaborative team shaping how batteries are built at scale with a strong emphasis on Design for Assembly (DFA) and automated manufacturing.

What you’ll do

  • Lead the design and development of assembly fixtures, manual stations, and tooling for battery module and pack manufacturing.

  • Own the full lifecycle of tooling — from concept to CAD, through drawing release, and integration into the manufacturing digital twin.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify assembly process requirements and ensure tooling meets these needs.

  • Provide production support during pilot line commissioning, including training operators and refining processes.

  • Identify and mitigate assembly risks, analysing product designs for challenges like access, alignment, or tool requirements.

  • Score and document potential assembly risks, feeding directly into DFA and PFMEA activities.

  • Recommend and implement design modifications to improve manufacturability, reduce part count, and simplify processes.

  • Develop cost estimates for assembly processes, factoring in tooling, labour, and material costs.

  • Continuously monitor assembly line performance and lead improvements in efficiency, reliability, and ergonomics.

  • Contribute to Design for Assembly strategies to ensure products are not only functional but also production-ready.

What we’d like you to bring

  • A degree or equivalent experience in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g. Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering).

  • Proven experience in high-volume manufacturing environments, ideally within aerospace, automotive, or battery production.

  • Deep understanding of both manual and automated assembly systems and principles.

  • Background in New Product Introduction (NPI), with hands-on experience taking designs from prototype to production.

  • Proficiency in CAD and engineering drawing creation — experience with CATIA and 3DX is highly desirable.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams.

  • Demonstrated ownership mindset with a bias for action and continuous improvement.

  • Experience contributing to PFMEA and applying lean manufacturing principles.

  • Familiarity with manufacturing standards and quality systems relevant to aerospace or high-performance automotive industries is a plus.

  • A passion for green technology, aviation, or disruptive innovation in engineering.
