Job Summary:

The Facilities Planner will own the service and maintenance of our manufacturing site and offices in Union, SC..  In addition, this position will perform basic maintenance and assembly of equipment and furnishings throughout the facilities. This position will report to the Site Maintenance Manager.

The Facilities Planner  oversees and coordinates employees and activities related to maintaining  and repairing site equipment, structures, utility systems and grounds. 

Plans and coordinates facility renovations, layouts, equipment updates, and utility support including modernization, maintenance  and upgrading of plant electrical and mechanical systems, structures, architecture and interior  finishes. 

The Facilities Planner also develops and monitors employee work schedules and  ensures facilities compliance with OSHA, EPA, applicable codes (NEC, IBC, ADA) and local, state  and federal codes and regulations. 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive facilities plan for our new startup facility
  • Maintain and update equipment, building and facilities management systems to ensure maximum efficiency
  • Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify potential maintenance and repair needs
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for equipment and building systems
  • Develop and write technical documentation, revise existing documentation and provide input to  technical papers or presentations. Deliver technical presentations as assigned.
  • Support relevant documentation for Facilities Maintenance and Production Operations systems  including HVAC, Lighting, Compressed Air systems, Construction, Boilers, chillers, Plumbing,  Renovation, Preventive Maintenance Plans and various lab equipment
  • Provide coverage for regulatory inspections and any other unplanned facility incidents. 
  • Perform hands-on maintenance tasks on physical building, equipment and systems
  • Coordinate with external contractors for major repair and renovation projects
  • Develop and manage facility budgets, including capital expenditures and operating costs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure facilities support company operations and growth plans
  • Act as the point of contact for facilities related issues, ensuring prompt resolution and communication with relevant parties

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in facilities/utilities planning and maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Associate’s or technical degree in a relevant field of study. 
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, documentation and blueprints.
  • Proven ability to clearly communicate (oral and written) both internal and external 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload
  • Hands-on experience with facilities maintenance, including electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with relevant health and safety regulations
  • Experience with CMMS required

We are a 24/7 manufacturing operation. This role may require overtime and the ability to work varied shifts in order to meet the needs of the business.
