Archer’s Powertrain Engineering group is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Engineering Project Specialist to own Engineering Development Build material management and assist with Bills of Material (BOM) and Engineering Change Orders (ECO) management for our High Voltage Power System (Pack, Battery Management System, Charge Port Assembly, Ground Systems), and Electric Engine (Rotor, Stator, Inverter, Gearbox Assembly, Power Electronics, Final Assembly) programs. This is both an external facing and internal cross-functional role that requires close coordination with Suppliers and Archer Design Engineering, Program Management, Supply Chain, and Quality teams.
What you’ll do:
- Deliver clear-to-build status, material coverage, run-out reports and other analyses as needed to plan Engineering Builds.
- Chair cross-functional ‘OK2Build’ team meetings for all Powertrain engineering builds.
- Build and maintain operational relationships with Powertrain suppliers. Act as the primary interface with suppliers on delivery status, issues and resolution for Engineering builds. Escalate to commercial or technical partners when required (Design Engineering, Supply Chain/Procurement, Accounts payable, Quality, etc.).
- Coordinate with Supply Managers and Procurement teams to get engineering project objectives accomplished.
- Coordinate with Powertrain Program Managers on the prototype build schedule (quantity, sequencing, build configurations, validation requirements, and material availability).
- Align with Design Engineering on revision control of what is being procured for Engineering Builds, support BOM reviews and maintenance.
- Validate materials have been inspected & signed-off to support a build by design engineering and quality teams. If modifications are required, organizing the subcontracting of that work.
- Ensure material arrives in a timely manner to support engineering build schedules set by Program Managers.
- Manage engineering changes during and in between builds to minimize obsolete inventory and ensure continuous supply.
- Identify areas of improvement or gaps in current processes and develop strategies to promote efficiency and productivity.
- Provide off-hour support via email and phone with suppliers and Archer team as needed
What you need:
- Bachelor’s degree (ideally engineering oriented discipline)
- Minimum 3 years’ related NPI material management experience with electrical and mechanical parts, or purchasing in a manufacturing company
- Demonstrated skills in supplier operational and relationship management
- Analytical capabilities to optimize engineering inventory levels and logistics costs (Strong Microsoft Excel skills)
- Familiarity with PLM, MRP/ERP systems with solid understanding of bills of material, product lifecycle management, and procurement/supply chain operations
- Ability to operate in an ambiguous environment with little direction.
- Ability to react to resets and constant changes in a demanding, time-sensitive environment.
- Detail oriented and organized
Bonus Qualifications:
- Knowledge of and experience within electric powertrain systems such as batteries, electric engines, inverters, gearboxes and related ground support equipment
- Thorough understanding of engineering product development including design phases, manufacturing processes and global supply chain management
- Unparalleled multi-tasking skills
This position reports directly to the Powertrain Engineering Organization.
This position may require exposure to information which is subject to US export control regulations, i.e. the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of U.S. regulations.

We drive a pay-for-performance culture and reward performance that supports the Company’s business strategy. For this position we are targeting a base pay between $140,000 - $170,000. Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
