About the company:
At Fourier, we're making on-site hydrogen universally accessible. Our breakthrough design enables highly modular and fully automated electrolyzer systems that scale to any size and optimize efficiency at all loads. Backed by leading venture capital firms, we're a team of passionate individuals on a mission to transition the global energy landscape towards a sustainable and emission-free future. We're building a collaborative and innovative culture where every team member has a direct impact on our success.
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Program Manager to help lead the development of Fourier’s commercial on-site hydrogen production system. The Fourier engineering team works in a hands-on, collaborative environment to solve problems and drive progress. Qualified candidates should be comfortable partnering with engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle, from architecture to design, implementation, and validation of a complex industrial hardware product.
Program Leadership: Drive end-to-end program execution from concept through launch, defining scope, timelines, deliverables, and critical milestones.
Cross-Functional Coordination: Serve as the central point of contact across hardware engineering, manufacturing, product, operations, and other teams to facilitate alignment and ensure all stakeholders are working toward shared goals and outcomes.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks, develop mitigation strategies, and facilitate resolutions to ensure program success.
Stakeholder Communication: Communicate program status, risks, and key decisions to senior leadership and stakeholders, ensuring transparency and visibility into overall program health.
Process Improvement: Continuously assess, build, and improve program management processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Technical Background: Strong foundation in mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering, with the ability to understand system architectures and engineering trade-offs. Comfortable engaging deeply with engineering teams to ask the right questions and challenge assumptions.
Project Management Skills: Proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders and tight deadlines in an early-stage start-up environment. Experience and demonstration of making informed decisions and trade-offs with incomplete or evolving data.
Problem Solving Skills: Problem-solving mindset with a bias toward action and ownership. Experience and passion to oversee a project from concept to implementation while working in ambiguous, fast-moving environments. Ability to decompose complex problems, prioritize effectively, and unblock teams.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of engaging and influencing cross-functional stakeholders across seniority levels. Skilled at facilitating discussions, resolving conflicts, and driving decisions.
Experience: 7+ years of experience leading cross-functional engineering programs, with a proven track record of delivering complex hardware products. Experience working with external partners such as contract manufacturers, suppliers, or test vendors is a strong plus.
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
Tools and Process: Familiarity with typical project and program management tools and deep understanding of fundamental development practices (agile, waterfall, hybrid). Experience with FMEA and safety compliance for making design decisions.
