Your Role and your Team: 

You will report directly to the Head of Powertrain & Advanced Systems. Your team has been established to focus on the complete lifecycle for EWIS within the Lilium Jet. You will be responsible for design, development, test and certification of the EWIS design and all interfaces within the Lilium Jet. Additional responsibilities will include the growth and development of the team that reports to you, engagement with key strategic suppliers, process & methods development. 

The successful applicant will need a strong EWIS technical background and a project focused approach combined with excellent decision making, stakeholder management, and team leadership skills. 

 Your Day to Day: 

  • Manage, train, develop and mentor your engineering team 
  • Technically supervise, approve and ensure on time delivery of all tasks/projects undertaken by your team 
  • Define and manage the schedule plan and milestones for the entire system including mechanical and electrical elements and their integration into the aircraft 
  • Accountable for managing requirements and design at system, sub-system and supplier levels. 
  • Responsible for the planning of the Design, Integration, Validation, Verification and Certification (IV&V) activities including producing and managing the V&V matrices.  
  • Work with the Chief Engineers and Technical Leads, to ensure alignment between the plans governing Design, V&V and certification. 
  • Responsibility for suppliers on all technical work packages and deliverables 
  • Responsible to establish best practices, tools, and processes in accordance with relevant aerospace standards 
  • Work on any ad-hoc related tasks or projects 

Your Profile: 

  • Degree in relevant engineering discipline 
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience gained working in an aerospace organization, including delivering EWIS design development and certification projects 
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in leadership & management of technical personnel, including an understanding of aerospace skills and capability requirements and aerospace delegation/approval processes 
  • Demonstrable experience in working with cross-functional teams, strong interpersonal and influencing skills, and cultural sensitivity to ensure effective working with a community from many different backgrounds 
  • Specific experience with Systems Engineering and Engineering Project Management would be extremely advantageous 
  • Specific experience with Technical (Design engineering) methods development and training would be extremely advantageous 
  • Fluent English language skills are essential, fluency in German or any other language would be beneficial
