Expertise:

  • Experienced CAD engineer NX / Catia / Solidworks  (NX preferred)
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes like Sheet metal stamping, extrusions/castings - knowledge of low volume processes. Injection Molding is a plus.
  • Understanding of body structures joining technologies - FDS/SPR/welding/adhesives.
  • Good knowledge of BIW / Body structures. Design for Crash/durability / NVH. Vehicle structures (Ensure that the Body Structure is compliant with all crash testing and safety requirements and that the design accounts for these testing needs from day one)
  • Ability to perform feasibility studies, Check A-class surfaces, and define craftsmanship targets
  • Working knowledge of GD&T and ability to perform Tolerance Stackup analysis
  • Familiar with Product Development lifecycle and demonstrated PLM experience 
  • Collaborative with internal (Studio, Product, CAE, Manufacturing, Interiors, etc.) and external stakeholders (suppliers) and be a commodity representative by taking ownership of tasks
  • Demonstrated understanding DFMEAs & DVPs to ensure strong product design & quality.
  • Ability to deliver and launch the assigned Body Structure subsystem(s) ensuring to achieve of strict cost and weight targets
  • Own and drive validation efforts for interiors components 
  • Computer programs/databases: NX Preferred, CATIA, or Solidworks experience is also OK.
