This role would sit within our brand new research and development team; specifically the control and simulation team. you will have the opportunity to work on products that directly impact the future of renewable energy.

What you'll do

  • Work on designing and developing brand new products related to the electrification of heat.
  • Design both digital and analogue circuits for various R&D projects.
  • Create and maintain electrical schematics.
  • Program microcontrollers, PLCs and microprocessors.
  • Assist Control Engineers with selecting appropriate I/O hardware.
  • Perform experimental testing and hardware diagnostics on custom electronic and electrical designs.
  • Assess electrical designs against safety regulations.
  • Advise the Control & Simulation Team and Mechanical Engineering Team on matters related to electrical/mechatronic design
  • What you'll need

  • A degree in Engineering (preferably Electronic, Electrical or Mechatronic) or any other similar field. Equivalent, high-level qualifications are acceptable with industrial experience.
  • Experience using electrical CAD software.
  • Working knowledge of communication protocols, such as I2C, SPI, etc.
  • Proven proficiency in at least one of the following: Python, C, C++, C#, Java.
  • Sound knowledge of power electronics and power systems.
  • Experience with PCB design and layout.
  • Hands on experience assembling control circuits, measuring and fault finding (including soldering and safe wiring techniques)
  • It would be great if you had

  • Experience with embedded Linux development.
  • An understanding of core concepts from control theory.
  • Experience working with Simulink, LabView, or similar software.
  • Knowledge of electrical safety regulations and certification
