About this job:
The EH&S Technician will support the development, implementation, and maintenance of the company’s environmental health and safety programs. This role involves monitoring compliance with safety regulations, conducting inspections, and providing training to employees to ensure a safe and healthy workplace.
Responsibilities Include:
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of facilities and operations.
- Identify hazards and implement corrective actions to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Develop and deliver training programs on safety procedures, emergency response, and environmental practices.
- Maintain training records and ensure all employees are informed about safety protocols.
- Investigate accidents and incidents, document findings, and recommend preventive measures. Prepare reports and track incident trends to support continuous improvement efforts.
- Stay updated on changes in environmental and safety regulations and ensure compliance within the organization.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, and incident reports.
- Utilize data management systems to analyze safety performance metrics and report findings to management.
- Support initiatives to minimize environmental impact and promote sustainability.
- Assist with waste management, recycling programs, and environmental audits.
- Assist in the development and implementation of emergency response plans and drills.
- Coordinate safety equipment inspections and ensure proper availability of emergency supplies.
About You:
- Experience in related fields and 2+ years of experience in BioTech or Food Manufacturing industries.
- General Industry OSHA 10hr and 30hr certified preferred.
- 40hr HAZWOPER preferred.
- Knowledge of local and federal regulations related to hazardous waste, medical waste, wastewater, air quality, and other environmental standards.
- Ability to continuously establish and maintain excellent record keeping, inventory, and accountability.
- Plans and prioritizes work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals.
- Must be able to navigate in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
- The Safety specialist must have general computer literacies in order to successfully navigate the various IT platforms and EHS organizational tools used to manage EHS operation and day-to-day functions.
- Must be action oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to lift/carry 25lbs. Sit/stand for long periods of time.
- Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.

Compensation Range: $32/hr - $38/hr*
*Pay may vary depending on factors including job-related knowledge and skills.
