To accomplish this mission, Rondo is deploying low-cost, zero-carbon Rondo Heat Batteries to accelerate the deployment of renewable energy and to significantly decarbonize industrial processes that are commonly thought of as "difficult-to-decarbonize". Our Heat Batteries charge from intermittent renewables to provide high temperature, continuous heat for customers safely, reliably, at an unprecedented 98% efficiency - and at a cost point that is lower than any other method.

We are looking for an experienced and creative Director of Strategic Sourcing to be responsible for ensuring the identification of strategic sources aligning with the company Sales & Operations planning process. You would assist in forecasting and capacity planning across multiple commodities needed for large EPC projects, and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve capacity constraints in the supply chain.

What You Will Do (key responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to):

• Identify and develop potential suppliers that meet the projected manufacturing requirements. Identify key commodities that needs second sourcing and execute a plan to implement second sourcing
• Identify highest cost items in BOM, and develop a plan to reduce costs for key items. This could be done through targeted negotiation or by second souring
• Define and develop appropriate cross-functional relationships with Sales, Engineering, Supply Chain, and other functions
• Establish and maintain business relationships with senior appropriate management of key suppliers. Evangelize Rondo’s growth potential to supplier management as needed

What You Will Bring:

• +15 years in Strategic Sourcing/Planning
• Availability to travel up to 30% domestically and internationally
• Experience with industrial materials, refractory, metals, and/or ceramics
• Experience reporting and communicating with suppliers, including forecasting and capacity planning
• Successful track record of evaluating and determining the most cost-effective and efficient means of sourcing, acquiring, and delivering materials to EPC projects
• The ability to guide business leadership teams to make strategic sourcing decisions to support Product Life Cycle Management

This role necessitates being on-site at our Alameda HQ at least one day per week and up to 30% travel. The estimated annual salary range for this role is $150,000 to $190,000 and it would be eligible for Rondo's excellent benefits listed above plus additional compensation in the form of equity. Please note that some pay bands may have wide ranges of compensation to accommodate candidates' diverse sets of skill levels and experience.
