What You Will Be Doing

As the Director for Residential Business Development, you will identify and develop new business channel and partnership opportunities across the entire e-mobility ecosystem for both single family and multi-family solutions.  You will be involved in every strategic aspect of developing a channel strategy for residential solutions that includes B2B, DTC and B2B2C opportunities such as DERMS enablement.  This is a team that is in hypergrowth, with lots of opportunities for the right person. 

If you are an enthusiastic evangelist who can bring creativity and leadership skills to ChargePoint, this is the role for you.  You must be able to clearly communicate and translate our complex solution across multiple audiences while being technical enough to identify the possible partnership opportunities in adjacent categories.

To succeed in this role, you must thrive in a fast-paced, early market environment with a strong bias for action and rolling up your sleeves to get things done.  You will develop strong working relationships and work cross-functionally with Product Marketing, Product, Sales and Marketing organizations. 

  • Developing and building relationships with customers, distributors and strategic partners, including Fleet, Utility and Auto manufacturers. Evaluating existing partnerships and sales efforts with an eye toward building on what works and changing what doesn't.
  • Participating in recruitment of appropriate installation and service partners globally that meet the needs of both drivers and businesses.
  • Rationalizing and standardizing partner and data sharing contracts to enable scaling.

Requirements

  • MBA desired
  • 10+ years’ experience in sales and program management.
  • You have a passion for vehicle electrification with a good knowledge of the automotive industry and electric vehicle charging dynamics
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to understand and articulate payback models to customers and strong business acumen with the ability to dive deep into decisions to understand economic impacts and ROI as well as market and competitive implications.
  • B2C/Consumer experience or B2B2C experience required.
  • Proven track record of negotiating and closing deals with both small business owners and large, multinational properties
  • Strong history of working effectively with channel/OEM partners.
  • Experience in energy or utility sector a plus.
  • Outstanding presentation, oral, written communications skills, and sales polish, with the ability to communicate at all levels internally and externally
  • Excellent project/program management skills and ability to track and manage complex customer relationships and activities cross functionally.

The targeted US salary range for roles at this operating level is $132,750 to $2,50,500. This range represents base salary and does not reflect equity, benefits or variable pay where applicable. Actual base salaries are based on several factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, experience, certifications and specific work location.
