The Director of Process Engineering will be responsible for comprehensive process design, layout, implementation, equipment specification and install from conception to start-up. They will be at the forefront of the exciting innovation within our new and existing Greenhouses, have full ownership over continuous improvement initiatives, and be critical in the decision making processes as we expand our footprint across the US.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Support new Greenhouse development projects and commissioning
- Design, develop, and implement food production processes
- Lead engineering innovation including design, experimentation, reporting, and rapid prototyping
- Work closely with vendor partners on equipment selection, final design, and budgets
- Interface with other departments to determine new and existing needs
- Implement Six Sigma quality management and reporting
- Develop and track capital budgeting and expenditure
- Verify equipment selection achieves continuous improvement
- Integrate automation with existing equipment
- Ensure new installations are documented with SOPs for ongoing operations and maintenance
WHO YOU ARE
- MEng or BSc in Engineering – material, agricultural, electrical or mechanical – or other related degree
- 7+ years of relevant work experience in a food manufacturing environment, ideally with fresh produce
- Experience reviewing and commenting on technical drawings from vendors and engineers
- AutoCAD drafting experience
- Electrical, plumbing and irrigation experience
- Demonstrated project management, organization, and leadership skills
