Responsibilities:

  • Build and Lead Manufacturing Operations: Create and manage the Manufacturing Operations department at Mighty Buildings, fostering a talented and motivated team. 
  • Future Factories Deployment:  Create a globally applicable factory deployment manual based on learnings from Monterrey factory.  Align site selection requirements for capacity and quality, optimizing material flow, implementing standardized practices, and developing training and localization strategies. 
  • Drive Safety and Sustainability: Prioritize the safety, health, and well-being of our manufacturing team by implementing responsible practices. Collaborate with EHS leadership to ensure safety standards throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Production Planning: Develop production plans and team schedules to meet production targets and customer commitments.
  • New Product Introduction: Work closely with the NPI team to transition new products from R&D to full-rate production.
  • Solidify Quality Assurance: Ensure product quality specifications in production are met and collaborate with supply chain and engineering teams for direct quality improvements.
  • Enhance Standard Operating Procedures: Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures and programs to enhance safety and productivity, striving for world-class OEE.
  • Production Maintenance:  Lead and support capital and maintenance projects driven by business priorities. Develop and manage project justifications, budgets, and schedules to ensure on time and on budget projects that meet or exceed business needs.
  • Computerized Maintenance Management: Select and develop a CMMS for maintenance program development and equipment KPI management.
  • KPI Reporting: Develop and report key manufacturing operations KPIs at the floor level to the executive team on a daily and weekly basis.
  • Manufacturing Execution System (MES): Establish end-to-end shop floor control system for real-time performance and traceability to enable both data-driven performance improvement and reporting.
  • Strategic Initiatives: Lead operational strategic initiatives to achieve Mighty Building’s cost of goods and carbon footprint targets.
  • Continuous Improvement:  Work with the operations team to measure and manage process waste, and drive improvements in the biggest cost opportunity areas through process improvements, training, recipe changes, raw material improvements, equipment improvements, etc.
  • Budget Management: Collaborate closely with the Finance department to build and manage a budget, ensuring performance and adherence to it.
  • Inclusive Work Environment: Leverage Mighty Building's international team culture to create an inclusive working environment where team members are engaged, feel valued, and are motivated.

 

Qualifications:

  • Seasoned Leader: 15+ years of experience in supply chain, operations, and manufacturing.
  • JIT and Lean Expertise: Experience in JIT manufacturing, Lean methodologies, and scaling novel processes and automation projects.
  • Empathetic Leadership: Ability to manage associates of all skill levels with empathy.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proficiency in leading continuous improvement programs through established practices like Kaizen, Yokoten, waste elimination (Muda), and Value Stream mapping.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish.
  • New Factory Launch: Experience in launching new factories, site selection, and automation optimization.
  • Digital Transformation:  Ability to work with our Digital Transformation Team to select the best tools and depending on the company’s scale.
  • Exceptional cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and influence across a global organization.
  • Comfortable operating and leading in a novel startup environment that often requires flexible thinking, agility, resilience, comfort with ambiguity and frequent change.  
  • Exceptional change management and project management skills.  
  • Ability to work extended hours.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 50%.
