We are developing our online commodity marketplace which allows farmers to find more sellers and buyers and to identify the best possible deals out there. We are looking forward to giving you access to the Agreena platform, from which we will enable farmers to easily access and identify the best prices on agricultural commodities delivered by both local and international market players. Both farmers and trading houses will be able to post offers in this open cross-border online market place. We hope you will join us on this journey towards a more open market.

As Director of Data Science & Data Engineering you'll be leading an agile, multi-disciplinary team of data scientists, machine learning experts, and data engineers distributed across Europe. You'll have the crucial role of overseeing the development and deployment of machine learning models and advanced analytics solutions, shaping our data strategy, and driving insights that fuel business growth on a global scale for farmers and corporations. Working alongside your Engineering, Product and Program Science counterparts the scope of your stewardship will bring insights and validation to  complex customer needs. climate models, satellite imagery and more.

How will you make an impact:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive data strategy in line with Agreena’s objectives and product roadmap, ensuring we have the right talent and technical capabilities being built in Agreena.
  • Lead data-driven initiatives and make pivotal technology decisions to enhance data infrastructure capabilities.
  • Design, develop, and implement sophisticated data models, predictive models, and algorithms to extract insights from complex datasets.
  • Lead the design and implementation of scalable data engineering solutions and cloud-based data systems using MLOps as one of the core principles.
  • Who we’re looking for:

  • A Master in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • 10+ years’ experience in data engineering, Data Analytics, and Systems Architecture.
  • Proven leadership in managing data science and engineering teams, delivering impactful solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of data modelling, data engineering, and database management systems.
  • Expertise in programming languages and machine learning frameworks.
  • Proficiency in data analytics, deep learning, and machine learning methods.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with an ability to translate complex analytical concepts for a non-technical audience.
  • Bonus points if:

  • You are passionate about leveraging data to create business value.
  • You have experience in regenerative agriculture and computational techniques.
  • You possess a strong results-orientation and can deliver at a high pace.
  • You have the ability to effectively collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels.
