Role Description
As Form Energy’s Director of New Product Introduction, you will own responsibility to take product through the technical transfer process from pilot scale production in an R&D environment to full rate production in a scaled manufacturing facility. This includes leading the team of technicians and managers that operate Form’s pilot production facility in Eighty Four, PA and providing engineering support to the operation of that line. What You'll Do:

  • Develop and hire the NPI team and create the technical transfer process to take product from R&D to full rate production.
  • Own the safety, health and well-being of the NPI Team by ensuring responsible practices are used to protect them and their work environment. 
  • Own initial pilot scale production of Form’s energy storage systems and all new production introductions, including major coordinated changes to the high volume production lines.
  • Drive the feedback loop between pilot production and manufacturing engineering teams and dynamically tackle pilot production roadblocks.
  • Partner with EHS leadership to ensure best practices are implemented throughout the pilot manufacturing and NPI process.
  • Achieve product quality specs in production and provide feedback to supply chain and engineering teams for quality improvement.
  • Support development and implementation of standard operating procedures and programs to improve the safety and productivity of the production line(s) achieving world class OEE.
  • Support development of production maintenance teams and programs to ensure the highest standards for OEE, with a focus on equipment availability. 
  • Aid the initial development and reporting of key manufacturing operations KPI’s from the floor level to the executive level on a daily and weekly basis.
  • Drive continuous improvement through close collaboration with Supply Chain, Manufacturing Engineering, Product Engineering, Software Engineering, and other internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with Form’s Finance department to build a budget and manage the performance and adherence to the budget
  • Leverage the Form culture to create an inclusive working environment where team members are engaged, feel valued, and are motivated to be strong contributors.
  • What You'll Bring:

  • Seasoned operations leader with 10+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, engineering or supply chain. 
  • Experience in technology manufacturing, automating and scaling novel chemical or metallurgical processes ideally involving battery manufacturing, energy storage, or a similar field.
  • Proven experience moving products through the Engineering NPI process from product concept to production.
  • Fundamental understanding of production operation, manufacturing validation process, Design for Manufacturing (DFM), material movement through supply chain and the factory.
  • Empathic leader who can manage team members of all skill levels.
  • Experience leading PFMEA exercises. 
  • Lean and/or Six Sigma practitioner is highly desired
  • Experience leading a continuous improvement program through established practices like Kaizen, Yokoten, eliminating waste (Muda), Value Stream mapping or other manufacturing practices
