The Director of Manufacturing, Middle East is Lucid Motor’s prime lead for vehicle and battery manufacturing in the region.  This position will lead the team through various strategic stages of business start-up and growth over the next several years, with major timing milestones comprised of volume, quality, and cost.  This is a venture that will significantly expand the regional competencies of vehicle assembly, contributing to economic growth and diversity.

Essential Duties

  • KD (Knock Down) Assembly
  • In concert with the Global Skill Team, develop and implement a plan to perform KD assembly in the region for US-built units

  • Factory Readiness
  • Ensure the ‘voice of the Plant’ is considered during factory design, construction and readiness activities. Play an active role in Launch activities including the installation and prove-out of equipment, tooling, and parts

  • People Plan
  • Develop a people staffing plan aligned to manufacturing capabilities and key milestone timing
  • Leverage Operational Excellence standards for lean manufacturing and continuous improvement

  • CBU (Complete Build Unit) capabilities
  • Develop a multi-year roadmap to strategically ramp up towards full CBU assembly and volume
  • Play a proactive role in future product design to ensure the Plant’s ability to consistently achieve key KPI’s once in series production

  • Leadership
  • Design and staff an organization that is capable of performing the work necessary to achieve Lucid’s manufacturing goals
  • Provide professional development, oversight, coaching, and mentoring of staff to ensure engaged world-class talent
  • Collaboratively represent the region within the Global Skill Team and advocate for global solutions that are regionally relevant to KSA market needs
  • Lead a balanced scorecard approach to KSA manufacturing performance that achieves volume, quality, cost, and timing
  • Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize competing requests and needs
  • Highly collaborative; comfortable working with people in a matrixed environment
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to foster and support a culture of diversity, inclusivity, collaboration and teamwork; able to build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues across all departments
  • Able to analyze data to guide strategic planning
  • Comfortable to give effective presentations to and facilitate meetings with all levels of the organization
  • Able to travel frequently and internationally
  • Education and Experience

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing with a global automotive OEM or Tier I supplier
  • Experience building and leading a team of professionals
  • Undergraduate degree

  • Preferred:
  • Above-mentioned experience in an emerging market, preferably in the MENA region
  • Business-based graduate degree – Master’s in business administration or similar (economics, commerce, marketing)
