About the company:

Chestnut Carbon is a U.S.-based nature-based carbon removal company that develops and manages afforestation (ARR) and improved forest management (IFM) carbon projects across the United States. The company works with expert foresters, carbon scientists, and land management specialists to restore marginal lands to native forestland and support the long-term conservation of privately owned forests. Its projects generate high-quality carbon credits while delivering co-benefits including biodiversity, water quality improvements, wildlife habitat, and support for rural communities and family forest owners. Chestnut Carbon's mission is to provide scalable, long-term nature-based carbon solutions that help corporations reduce their carbon footprints while restoring and enhancing forest ecosystems. The company distinguishes itself by owning and managing the land it restores, ensuring project permanence, and by working exclusively with at-risk, privately owned U.S. forests for its IFM program. It serves as a long-term partner for both corporate buyers seeking carbon credits and landowners seeking access to the voluntary carbon market. The company has developed proprietary technology including the Chestnut Land Explorer platform and patented carbon measurement devices to deliver accurate and verifiable carbon solutions. Notable milestones include raising $250 million in funding, being recognized among America's top GreenTech companies for two consecutive years, and becoming the first U.S. IFM project verified for biodiversity conservation impacts with the Forest Stewardship Council.

Forest Carbon Works, a subsidiary of Chestnut Carbon, offers private US forest landowners conservation programs that help them access carbon credit markets while preserving their land and legacy. Landowner members of Forest Carbon Works enroll their forestlands in our Improved Forest Management (IFM) conservation program (Conserve), and every opportunity that reaches contract is built on a verified land and title foundation.

Reporting to the Senior Diligence Coordinator, the Diligence Coordinator is responsible for supporting land and title due diligence for IFM carbon project opportunities, ensuring each transaction is accurately vetted and risk assessed. This role sits at the center of transaction readiness: reviewing ownership, confirming signatory authority, verifying parcel IDs, identifying risks, and coordinating issue resolution. The Diligence Coordinator will work closely with the Senior Diligence Coordinator and partner with our sales, legal, forestry, and operations teams to resolve risks and close gaps.

The ideal candidate will possess experience in real estate transactions, title review, or land-based transaction execution, along with a detail-oriented, proactive approach to managing complex documentation. This person will be comfortable managing multiple transactions at once in a fast-paced sales environment while keeping every file accurate.

This role ensures that every project we bring on is built on a clean, defensible, and well-documented land foundation. The Diligence Coordinator's work directly protects transaction integrity, reduces downstream risk, and enables scalable growth of our forest carbon portfolio, with the opportunity to work at the intersection of land, climate, and finance.

Diversity, equity, and inclusion are central to everything we do. Chestnut Carbon thrives on and celebrates different views, beliefs, and values. We are committed to our talented team and partners, regardless of background or affiliation, and to actively promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout our business. We strive to be a place where you can be you and bring yourself to work.
