Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering work related to modeling 3D and 2D models in CATIA (V6 preferred). Assembly, castings, stampings are typical. May include other types as necessary.
  • Develop 2D drawings with proper GD&T, ensuring work carried out follows company design, safety, quality, environmental compliance and procedural standards.
  • Perform clash analysis with surrounding components under different dynamic conditions, create swept volumes. Provide design solutions to meet clearance specifications.
  • Assist with release process working with cross functional 
     teams of peer designers, engineers, functional teams.
  • Perform standard engineering calculations strength, durability & stack ups. Create manufacturing drawings.
  • Create CAD mockups by modifying existing models for discussion with suppliers.
  • Review test procedures, create DVP&R. Create design standards. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in mechanical engineering or equivalent
  • 2+ years’ experience utilizing CATIA CAD software (V6 preferred)
  • GD&T & stack ups experience
  • Experience in CAD and drawing release process
  • Experience is creating dynamic models preferred
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to think in a three-dimensional manner
