Your role and your team:

You will report directly to the Head of E&E Electronic & Electrical Engineering. You will support the Head of Department in providing effective leadership and management of the department. You will work closely with existing engineering managers supporting design, supplier management, and testing activities.  

Current E&E has more than 70 people managed by 7 Engineering managers.

Your day to day:

  • Supporting the development of the complete engineering product life cycle process for this engineering department Electronic/Electrical & Power Sub-System level design & verification

Support with:

  • Control System design & verification 
  • Electronic/Electrical Design & verification 
  • Electrical Motor Design & verification
  • Harness & Wiring design & verification
  • E3 design & verification 
  • Supporting  development training  and recruitment of engineers including deployment into  multi-disciplined teams  as required 
  • Design Assurance system - Monitoring compliance with, and adequacy of, all processes.  
  • Ensuring corrective actions are taken where necessary.
  • External supplier approvals and technical oversight.
  • Continuous Improvement  - Ensuring that the functions  processes are  effective and efficient
  • Initiation of  CI (continuous improvement) activities to drive lean product development. 
  • Continuous collaboration with other Functional Heads to enable fully cross-functional engineering processes.
  • Creation,  issue and maintenance of best practice guides, standards, specifications and checklists that are required to control the activities of each functional sub- group.
  • Accountable to ensure engineering product roadmaps are aligned to the future business requirements and executed to plan

Provide technical support to:

  • Supply Chain to develop suppliers and engineer service companies.
  • Business Development in the pursuit of new business  opportunities
  • Program management regarding planning and timing 

Your profile: 

  • B.Sc./M.Sc./in the field of  Engineering
  • 10+ years  in the aerospace industry experience
  • 5+ of experience in a similar position (ideally in a highly regulated sector)
  • Experience of working with Aerospace regulator on civil aircraft certification  (EASA or FAA preferably)
  • Good skills  in  engineering project management and team coordination  
  • Target-oriented, driven work style with analytic  problem-solving skills required
  • Strong motivation to help build and shape your organization structures and processes
  • High level of self-reliance and an autonomous target-oriented workstyle is a must  
  • Experience with  electronic hardware processes according to  DO-254, DO-160  
  • Fluent English language skills are desired
