About the Role

You will be responsible for round trip deliveries from our Shepherdsville campus in to metropolitan areas in Ohio and adjacent states in a 16’ refrigerated box truck. You will be responsible for loading the truck according to the day’s manifest and subsequently unloading the assigned product at each stop. You are the face of Square Roots and in many cases, the only in-person interaction our retail partners will have, so a willingness to learn and communicate about our product and our mission is a must. You will report to the General Manager.

You will: 

• Safely and efficiently transport produce from our farm in Springfield along the day’s assigned route.
• Collect signed invoices from each stop as proof of receipt.
• Communicate any pertinent issues along the route to the Manager.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, food-safe environment in the truck at all times
• Palletizing and loading truck.
• Preparing orders for pickup.

You have experience with:

• Working long hours within state labor guidelines.
• Driving cargo vans or trucks up to 26’.
• Perishable food handling and delivery experience.

You are:

• A safe driver with a clean driving record and valid driver’s license.
• Comfortable with both highway and city driving.
• Able to communicate with customers about our products and services.
• Spanish-speaking a plus.
• Passionate about real, local food
• Values-aligned
• An early riser - this job will start before dawn.
• Adaptable to changing routes.
• Serious about COVID-19 safety, comfortable wearing a mask, and willing to submit to weekly COVID screening tests
• Passion for local food. 
• Available to work on the weekends

COVID-19 Vaccination Policy:

New employees are required to be fully vaccinated prior to their start date. The definition of fully vaccinated includes a booster for those that are eligible.

You are considered fully vaccinated if: 

You have received a full series of the vaccine recently (meaning 2 doses within 5 months for the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, or 1 dose within 2 months for Johnson and Johnson). 

You received your full series over 5 months ago for Pfizer and Moderna or over 2 months ago for Johnson and Johnson, and have also received a booster shot. 

Proof of vaccination is required during the hiring process, and employees will be required to get booster shots as they become eligible to maintain their fully-vaccinated status.  

As federal guidance on booster shots evolves, the definition of ‘fully vaccinated’ may change.  

In accordance with EEOC guidance, if you are not vaccinated or do not intend to be due to medical reasons or deeply held religious beliefs, you may make an accommodation request and Square Roots will make a reasonable effort to accommodate you, subject to the requirements of the role you are applying for.
