Octopus Energy is now one of the largest suppliers of gas and electricity to UK householders, with 6.5 million customers and a multi-billion pound turnover. Our Margin Assurance team delivers value to the business through product development, reporting & bespoke analysis relating to the margin gap created by inflated costs and missed revenue opportunities.
The Margin Assurance Product aims to build on existing pipelines that produce a highly granular view of consumption, revenue and costs for every register and settlement period within the time range specified, accounting for the majority portion of Octopus’ financials and the basis for financial reporting to many stakeholders, including Octopus board, CFO and several teams within Octopus.
The product will identify where there is an imbalance between cost to serve and revenue generated, breaking down historical financial reporting by root causes, summarising areas of opportunity in the operational business to resolve and rebalance, generating gross margin for the retail business.
The more of the below skills you have, the higher the probability that you’ll be a good fit for this role. Our perfect person would meet a minimum standard in all of these areas… but we place an equally high value on an ability to pick up new skills and knowledge … and nobody (least of all us) is perfect!
