Bear Flag is an early stage team at John Deere, acquired in August 2021, with a growing portfolio of projects in the autonomy space and is looking for a Controller to join our growing team.

The Pay
Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting base pay for this role is between $245,000 and $290,000. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus and benefits.
What you will Do
Support month and period-end financial close and ensure accounting records are kept appropriately and comply with the US GAAP; including preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedulesOversee and contribute to the day-to-day operations of the Accounting team including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Revenue Recognition, Purchase Order Processing, Payroll, and TaxAssist leadership in annual budgeting and planning process, and ongoing forecasting processManage employee credit cards and travel & expense reimbursement, review monthly statements and reports for compliance and educate workforce on policiesDesign, implement and maintain effective accounting processes, policies and internal controls ensuring best practices are in placeResearch accounting matters for non-recurring accounting transactions or new initiatives the company is exploringCoordinate with other teams to ensure timely recording of transactions and the completeness and accuracy of all financial reportingWho you are
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or financeCPA highly preferredUnderstanding of industry benchmarks in accounting best practicesKnowledge of GAAP or other industry-standard accounting frameworksNetsuite experience strongly preferredDeep understanding of accounting principlesComfortable dealing with huge volumes of complex dataBenefits we Offer
