Director, Technical Content Development and Localisation

What You Will Be Doing

The Instructional Designer will be responsible for the design, development, and release of our technical training content and learning paths for global audiences. This role will work closely with internal customer teams (Engineering, Manufacturing, Compliance, Support, and others) to ensure accurate, timely technical training is available for all ChargePoint hardware and software products. You will also collaborate with technical writers and illustrators to develop interactive training experiences for installers and other technical audiences. To be successful at ChargePoint this person must be creative, highly motivated, self-directed, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

What You Will Bring to ChargePoint

• Create interactive learning activities, such as e-learning courses and videos to install, use, and service ChargePoint products (hardware and software) while adhering to the existing styles and standards.
• Able to design, develop, and conduct assessments or evaluations.
• Experience with publishing, troubleshooting, and content maintenance in a learning management system (LMS).
• Create and edit instructional videos or animations using video editing software.
• Analyze and understand the operation of various hardware and software products and the ability to translate that into a comprehensible training format.
• Able to learn ChargePoint product lineup to produce technical training with the assistance of subject matter experts.
• Develop scalable solutions to ensure all training programs are consistent and ready for a global audience.
• Knowledgeable about best practices for creating localised content for global audiences and preparing it for localisation by third-party vendors.
• Able to project manage all phases of a learning project – analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation.
• Collaborate with other teams to ensure consistency and clarity across all training and documentation content.

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of experience with the design and development of instructional materials for complex products (hardware AND software)
• Ability to create digital content with clean aesthetic design, animations, and layout under specific brand guidelines, with a focus on overall user experience
• Proficiency in Articulate Storyline 360 or other eLearning course authoring tools is required
• Demonstrated ability to distill technical information from subject matter experts and translate it into training relevant to the target audience
• Experience in raster and vector-based image editing with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator)
• Proficient with video production and editing with tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro
• Strong knowledge of adult learning theory and its application to learning solutions
• Experience working with learning management systems (LMS)
• Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently while meeting tight deadlines
• Knowledge of Jira, Confluence, or similar project management tools is a plus.
• Knowledge of 3D rendering, animation, and production of realistic product visuals from 3D assets is a plus.

Amsterdam, NL, 12 month contract
