Our device captures at least 80% of a semi-truck’s carbon emissions directly from the tailpipe. We sell the CO2 to end-users who can store it away for a long time. We split that revenue with our customers, so the device pays for itself in just a couple years.

Remora is hiring a Computer Engineer I, who will help the Controls/Software/Electronics team to support design and modification of control units, PCB’s as well as support sensor calibrations for the Remora device all while helping to tackle the defining challenge of our time.

We’re a 50-person climate tech startup based in Detroit, MI. We build a device that captures a semi-truck’s carbon emissions directly from the tailpipe. We sell the CO2 to end-users, and split that revenue with our customers, so our device pays for itself in just a couple years.

We’re piloting our technology with some of the largest companies in the world, including three of the Fortune 10, and we’ve raised multiple rounds of funding from leading investors like Lowercarbon Capital, Union Square Ventures, and First Round Capital.

Responsibilities:

Design a new Remora specific control unit

Design customize PCB and microprocessors that expand Remora’s electronics capabilities to meet future design requirements (e.g. custom sensor hardware)

Program/calibrate sensors on test benches and on vehicle

Work on creating or modifying firmware

Script and automate high resolution data

Map software modules to hardware components (ECU, sensors and other electronic components)

Generate effective and scalable software code; Modify existing code to adapt to changing requirements and to address software bugs/issues

Work with the controls, electronics and other cross functional teams to resolve software bugs and issues

Qualifications:

2 plus years of experience as a computer science engineer, automotive industry experience a plus

Expertise in PCB design, microprocessor and CAN tranceivers

Experience using Linux OS

Expertise in C/C++ coding

Experience creating and updating firmware/bootloader
