About the Role:

Reporting into the SVP, Data Center Operations, the Chief of Staff works at the intersection of business’ mission critical data center operations, finance, business development, major project and program management, and sustainability strategy.

The ideal candidate is extremely hard working and thrives in ambiguity.  This person has a solutions oriented mindset and is not intimidated by working into the night, weekends, and has the ability to travel 50%+ of the time. Candidates should possess elite skills in analysis, project management, communication and stakeholder management, and demonstrate operational excellence. Someone who has data construction experience is a plus. Candidates must have a passion for Crusoe’s mission and desire to be part of a tight-knit and enthusiastic team.

The Chief of Staff will gain first hand exposure to a dynamic and entrepreneurial internal management team, affording very unique learning and development opportunities. Additionally, the Chief of Staff will operate alongside external partners who represent leading names across energy, finance, technology and infrastructure. The experiences and credentials afforded by this role will prepare the candidate for subsequent career steps that may include general management, investing, or entrepreneurial pursuits in a way that few other roles ever could.

A Day In The Life:

The Chief of Staff will closely assist the SVP, Data Center Operations and his executive team in the planning and execution of major company initiatives including:

  • Planning, deployment and operation of billions of dollars of data center infrastructure

  • Development and rollout of internal systems to facilitate operational excellence and continuous improvement across Crusoe

  • Business development across energy, data center and technology markets

  • Assist in the preparation and execution of key initiatives and operations, for example:

    • Quantitative and qualitative analysis of key decisions

    • Delegated management of various projects and initiatives

    • Development of presentation materials to inform and influence key stakeholder groups internally and externally

  • Lead the planning, development and implementation of operational processes and systems that enable Crusoe’s growth and attainment of our core mission

  • Develop and manage Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) Systems

  • Organization and implementation of Responsible, Accountable, Consulted, Informed (RACI) processes

  • Work collaboratively with a variety of teams to plan and document effective processes, playbooks and similar systems

  • Ensure follow-through and operational implementation of the new processes, including a feedback loop for continuous improvement and refinement

  • Identify hotspots in the business that require intervention and proactively investigate, strategize, and implement solutions with those business leaders to drive efficiency

You Will Thrive in this Role if:

  • Bachelor's degree - engineering, business, science or a related field preferred

  • 8+ years of experience in management consulting, business operations, venture capital, private equity, or data center operations.

  • Experience in a highly cross-functional role and can clearly describe and work within the organizational dynamics of a fast-growth company

  • Naturally analytical mindset; the candidate gravitates toward a spreadsheet rather than a slide deck

  • Ability to operate at all altitudes – discussing strategy and vision with executives, and troubleshooting operations with individual contributors

  • An extreme degree of ownership and grit. You do not let go until a problem is solved for good

  • Ability to execute with conviction and good judgment with limited guidance; needs minimal direction in an ambiguous context to take action and then adapt quickly

  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time

Benefits:

  • Hybrid work schedule

  • Industry competitive pay

  • Restricted Stock Units in a fast growing, well-funded technology company

  • Health insurance package options that include HDHP and PPO, vision, and dental for you and your dependents
