Chassis Engineer - Actuators/Active Suspension

The candidate will have component design and release responsibility working with components on the innovative active suspension system.  To deliver these systems, the candidate will be an integral member of the chassis actuator engineering team and will coordinate the execution and delivery of engineering milestones.  The candidate will work with tier one suppliers to lead development and release of components related to the suspension for an active chassis system while meeting cost, weight, timing and performance targets.  The scope will focus primarily on the strut and spring design and requires prior experience with this set of components.  The candidate will also have experience with hydraulic systems and with vehicle dynamics development and tuning, and CAN network communications and trouble shooting.  Documentation to be delivered in support of component and vehicle execution will include: requirements and specifications, failure mode and effects analysis, 2D and 3D computer aided drawings, PLM release process documents, as well as system and component level technical specifications.  As we are a small team, this role will also other cross functional activity such as vehicle integration and testing.

There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $119,000 to $195,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
