ICON is looking for a hard-working, creative, and team-oriented problem solver to serve as a Business Development Analyst on the Public Sector Business Development (BD) team. Our ideal candidate is passionate about building go-to-market strategies, writing proposals, and has a deep interest in at least a couple of the following subjects: robotics, technology, space, defense, and housing. You should be extremely organized, a stellar researcher, and eager to learn about building a public sector BD pipeline. This role is based at our Austin, TX campus and reports to the Director of Public Sector Business Development.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Help build public sector go-to-market strategies for space, defense, and housing.
  • Lead the coordination, drafting, and submission of new business proposals in the areas of defense, space, and advanced research and development concepts.
  • Identify, track, and assess public sector solicitations; build and maintain the team’s pipeline of new business in a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system using tools such as Bloomberg Government and public procurement sites such as sam.gov.
  • Prepare technical marketing materials for potential customers and partners.
  • Plan, coordinate and execute customer visits and support business development events for customers; support customer engagement and success initiatives.
  • Map networks of stakeholders across large organizations using tools such as Lucidchart.
  • Help build and lead the team’s revenue operations systems.
  • Analyze how public policy and regulations affect ICON’s BD efforts.



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2+ years of relevant work experience (including with fast growing startups, investment banking, or management consulting).
  • Experience creating compelling strategy decks (PPT, Google Slides, or Keynote).
  • Ability to build relationships across ICON departments such as finance, hardware, architecture, and space.
  • Insatiable appetite to learn and grow with professional drive and positive attitude.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Passion for space, technology, defense, housing, and/or innovation, especially as it relates to ICON’s public sector clients, such as NASA and the Department of Defense.
  • Basic financial modeling skills.
