We are currently seeking an experienced Body Repair Mechanical Technician to be part of developing globally recognized, best-in-class collision repair capability for Lucid Motors. This position will be an evolutionary one, starting with hands-on work as the body repair program team develops and grows. It will involve working with and supporting the Body Repair Program team, BIW Engineering, and other Lucid departments. The Role

  • Reporting to the Body Repair Technical Manager and Body Repair Associate Manager.
  • Work with the Technical Training, Body Repair Validation Technicians, Body Repair R&D Technicians & Serviceability Team to document developed repair methods.
  • Work with Vehicle and subsystem engineering teams to develop a testing methodology for new repair methods.
  • Assist the R&D Technicians with Fastener and Adhesives testing when needed
  • Work with the AML (Advanced Materials Lab) to perform tests developed in conjunction with engineering teams for service repairs.
  • Lead vehicle tear down and reassembly of VIP vehicles undergoing repairs in the workshop.
  • Perform Final Physical Signoff after repairs have been completed on all vehicles repaired by the Body Repair Program
  • Contribute to the design and development of tooling related to the Body Repair program, and    service as a whole
  • Work with FSE (Field Service Engineering) to perform R&D Validation on Service Diagnostic Software
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Effectively handle multiple priorities, organize workload, and meet project deadlines.
  • Comply with all Lucid safety rules, guidelines and standards.
  • Must be willing to learn and perform Structural Repairs, and Paint Repairs on Lucid Vehicles if needed.
  • Qualifications

  • Valid Driver's License and a good driving record.
  • 5 years minimum hands-on technician experience in the Automotive industry. OEM Experience is a plus.
  • Be able to explain and demonstrate best mechanical practices for all stages of the repair process involved in
  • HV Certifications from a Major OEM
  • Mechanical Certifications from an OEM
  • Experience with 3d modeling software  (Catia 3dx and Fusion 360)
  • Strong computer skills ( Word, Excel, PowerPoint )
  • Capable of lifting up to 100 lbs.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Education

  • Vocational School Certificate in Collision Repair or equivalent experience
