In this role, you will be responsible for managing the design, development, specification, and evaluation of ESS Li-ion batteries. You will be a member of a team focused on the specification and evaluation of supplier-developed systems and components and their integration into Fluence stationary energy storage systems. You will define and manage requirements with suppliers and internal partners and be both a technical leader and project manager.
Responsibilities
•Responsible for hardware and software requirements development, working with Core Engineering, Project Management, and Product teams.
•Lead and Manage battery system supplier development and integration into Fluence Energy Storage Systems including execution of supplier design reviews.
•Manage and coordinate battery system development and validation testing.
•Work with project/product management to track and maintain schedule.
•Develop a deep understanding of the supplier system and solutions to be able to manage and communicate technical risks to the broader Fluence team.
Education and Experience
•B.S. in Engineering
•7+ years in the design and development of high-voltage battery systems.
•Strong knowledge of system engineering principles.
•Technical knowledge in a broad area of engineering disciplines (Electrical, Electronics, Controls, Mechanical, Thermal, Materials, Safety, Test/Validation, Manufacturing)
•Experience with requirements management and test tracking tools. (Jira, Jama, Doors, TestRail, etc.)
•Ability to utilize data and statistical analyses to make design decisions.
•Strong technical communication skills.
•Passion for batteries, sharing know-how, and learning from others.
