ICON is looking for a Batch Plant Manager to lead our Austin batch plant facility. As a Batch Plant Manager at ICON, you will be responsible for managing the Batch Plant operations team and facility to further ICON’s mission of making dignified housing accessible to everyone and advance humanity with our technology. This role is based at ICON’s Austin, TX lab and will report to the Material Operations Director.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage of plant operations including management of raw materials, deliveries and shipments to job sites.
- Maintain plant upkeep, environmental, and safety policy to comply with Company, State, and Local governing rules (facility manager).
- Control and minimize plant costs while providing a consistent quality product.
- Capable of measuring raw material inventories and the ability to order and maintain inventory levels sufficient for the successful ongoing operation of the batch plant.
- Direct preventative maintenance and the repair of equipment as needed to ensure machine uptime is maintained (includes inventory control for consumable spare parts).
- Operate plant in most sustainable manner possible to ensure minimal waste.
- Recruit, hire and manage plant personnel to ensure high levels of efficiency and safety.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 5 years’ experience performing varied responsibilities related to plant production.
- Thorough knowledge of the automated batch plant operation, including batch interface and the optimization of control parameters necessary to maintain accurate material inventories.
- Proficient in the use of a computer and Microsoft Office applications.
- Demonstrated leadership ability and strong independent problem solving skills.
- Excellent people management skills: ability to develop effective internal and external relations.
- Possesses good written and oral communication skills.
- Working knowledge of OSHA/DOT regulations.
- Must be D.O.T. certified to manufacture concrete and concrete products.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Technical degree or higher preferred.
