Audio Hardware engineers are at the core of delivering the most premium media and entertainment experience to Rivian drivers and passengers.

Responsibilities

  • Specify and design best in class audio hardware and architecture
  • Responsible for audio design, integration, and verification throughout the vehicle design cycle
  • Responsible for audio component level and on vehicle performance by computer modeling and simulation as well as lab and real life validation
  • Define audio placement on vehicles with attention to coexistence, thermal requirements, desense and isolation requirements
  • Work with internal cross functional teams and external vendors toward the production of world class audio for Rivian vehicles
  • Work with cross functional teams to design and develop vehicle level end-of-line testing for audio
  • Support component, subsystem, and vehicle level DFMEA’s, DFM’s, and validation plans/reports as related to audio
  • Support domestic travel for program milestones and factory builds
  • Investigation into novel technologies and integration methods with antenna and other cross functional teams

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or greater in Applied Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Acoustics or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience with developing audio hardware
  • Deep technical understanding of A2B Communication, Class D amplifiers
  • Knowledge of audio signal processing for hands-free telephony, voice assistance, and media playback.
  • Experience with embedded system development and low-level interfaces related to audio functions such as I2C, I2S, TDM, PCM, SPI.
  • Experience with vehicle communication and control protocols such as CAN, LIN, Ethernet etc
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in the automotive industry preferred.
