Role Summary 

As an Assistant Vehicle Operations Manager, you run our day-to-day onsite Vehicle Operations. You will support the onsite logistics operations including planning, scheduling, hiring, training, and coordinating with the Vehicle Operations manager to meet customer needs. You will need to possess strong communication and have a proven track record of leading teams through engagement. You will need the ability to build and affect culture through buy-in and persuasion. As a hands-on leader, you will own feedback and development of associates with a focus to promote from within.  

 

This is a leadership role in operations where you will energize people to solve problems. You are counted on managing the location on behalf of the Manager, and developing your professional skills in an evolving, fast-paced environment under strong mentors and support structure. Responsibilities 

  • Lead a team of multiple associates with the ability to step in and complete all tasks associated with Vehicle Operations specialists (regardless of every level).  
  • Serve as location point of contact which includes setting schedules, communicating daily priorities and goals, requesting resources, and coordinating work efforts with other on-site team members 
  • Ability to lead daily stand-up team meetings and oversee team members in the absence of the site manager 
  • Support the onboarding and training for all new specialists as required 
  • Work with Vehicle Operations Manager to ensure that all procedures and quality requirements are updated and accurate for site specific workflow(s) 
  • Observe work processes and validate that workflows are following operational procedures 
  • Champions, leads, and advocates for continuous improvement activities in coordination with Operations Management and Operational Excellence teams 
  • Ensure product quality standards through supporting vehicle wash and/or detailing/paint correction activities 
  • Receive, inspect, and process incoming inventory, including completing paperwork 
  • Ensure the parking lot is always safe and drivable 
  • Conduct various audits to include but not limited to; security, inventory, asset location, etc. 
  • Communicate and surface roadblocks as well as proposed resolutions to management where needed  
  • Apply critical thinking and an open mind with the intent to making processes better each day 
  • Lead problem solving activities with internal and external partners on site 
  • Work cross-functionally and collaboratively with other teams onsite and remote 
  • Complete additional work and tasks as requested by the leadership team  

 

Qualifications 

  • 5+ years of experience with operations, logistics, or lot management; 3+ years supervisory experience preferred; Previous EV experience a plus  
  • Must be at least 21 years of age  
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred 
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to support customers on nights, weekends and/or holidays; ability and willingness to travel based on business needs to support other market launches and operations 
  • Working knowledge with computers and software including Microsoft Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with the ability to effectively navigate internal business platforms 
  • Must have a valid driver’s license in the state/province of residence that you will be driving/operating a vehicle (or state that you are commuting daily to/from)  
  • No drug or alcohol related driving incidents in the last 3 years; No more than 1 serious moving violation in the last 3 years; No driving related suspensions or revocation of Driver License within a 3-5 year period; Will be subject to continuous Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) monitoring  
  • Ability to obtain and maintain local sales licenses if applicable in your state/province

Physical Requirements  

  • Willingness to work in various working conditions including being in an active service center or unpredictable weather conditions 
  • Physical exertion may be required to perform occupational tasks (sitting up to 2 or more hours at a time, standing for up to 8 or more hours a day, walking, bending, kneeling, laying, twisting, carrying, reaching, stretching, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 lbs). 
  • Frequent use of hands for purposes of grasping and using tools correctly, entering data, writing communications, or calling customers or internal partners 
  • Strong understanding of written and spoken English 
  • Ability to see, read and interpret documents such as governmental regulations, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions or schematics
