What You Will Be Doing

The Accounts Receivable and Collections Manager position is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations related to North America collections and accounts receivable.  Responsibilities include managing the AR portfolio to ensure timeliness of collections, overseeing cash receipt posting instructions for accurate cash application, account reconciliation and reporting. Assist in directing the work of employees assigned to the department by leading and overseeing their day-to-day activities, work schedules and by providing work-related guidance in accordance with the Company’s policies and procedures.  Building and maintaining positive relationships with both internal and external customers is paramount to this position. In addition, managing, and training A/R Collection staff as we grow is critical.

What You Will Bring to ChargePoint

• • Manage the daily operations of the accounts receivable and collections team members.
  • Develop and drive collection strategy and execution.  Drive cash forecasting, and report on trends.
  • Interface with Cash Application leader to ensure respect of Controlling requirements, serve as escalation point for any issues involving both AR Accounting and Credit & Collection teams.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Effectively lead, coach, and develop direct reports.
  • Ensure the effectiveness of existing processes, and design and implement new processes, policies, and procedures to enable greater effectiveness
  • Manage the complete Collections function in North America ensuring all activity is processed accurately and timely.
  • Lead the Collections team in providing excellent customer service and support while serving as a role model and mentor for team members.
  • Identify and implement efficient processes and resourcing across the billing and collections teams to achieve the best outcomes for the company's financial metrics
  • Review and drive operational improvements continually, including working with business partners, key stakeholders, and other departments.
  • Conduct monthly one-on-one meetings with Collection team.
  • Ensure compliance with appropriate accounting policies, business processes and controls.
  • Prepare or review month-end reconciliation for AR related balance sheet accounts!
  • Provide timely reports for month-end reporting package, regular management reports and ad-hoc data and metrics as needed by the business ambiguity.
  • Undertake ad hoc strategic projects.
  • Participate and support AR in new system implementation and upgrade projects as needed.
  • Collaborate across AR to work as a global team across regions and functions.

Requirements

• 7+ years of accounting experience in collections with a large company involving subscription contracts and recurring revenue cycles.
• 7+ years of management experience.
• Highly developed written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail, goal oriented.
• Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities.
• Commitment to excellent customer service.
• Successful in dealing with company personnel at all levels.
• Ability to work independently.
• Bachelor's degree in related field, and/or equivalent in accounting experience
• Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Sale Force and Avalara
• Evidence of multi-tasking, working under pressure and meeting required deadlines
• Demonstrable strong interpersonal and customer service skills
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced, high volume and rapidly growing environment.
